WEDDING CAKE, and little bits and bobs!

Another teddy but this time blue and with a bit of movement in the bow!
And on the cake!

I had the pleasure of helping out on a wedding cake, never done it before so bit daunting but I loved it!
Took all afternoon! My boss and I did it together 2 tiers each!

I did mostly the bottom two, piping little balls, 4 different shades. Harder than it looks!!

This is the top who tiers!

Bottom, progress...

More progress!

We then swapped for a little bit!

Filling out a bit more now!

And even more!

Getting there!

Almost complete!

Close up!

Very nearly finished now!

Again, very nearly finished!

The finished picture will be posted in the next blog post!

Pastillage house

The following took 2 weeks to make, it consisted of making pastillage from scratch, making templates, cutting and then waiting a week before sticking together with royal icing. Then decorating with piping and cut out flowers.

Cakey cakes!

I didn't do this cake, I just think its so pretty!

However, I did do this little teddy, made for a little girls cake, with a cute bow on it and a heart shaped nose!

This cake has my roses on it that I made ( from the last blog post )

These are my shells!

I cut the big 40 out, shelled it and did the stars!

Massive bow!

I built this cake up, iced it all over, then decorated it as a parcel cake!

For this cake I built it up, iced it and covered it with spots and stars on wires.

I painted camouflage on this with edible paint/food colouring, it was then going to be shelled and written on.

I cut and painted all these camouflage for cup cakes.

I ordered this cake, it was based on the girls birthday card, think it looks so pretty!

Sugar Roses

I learnt how to do roses!

This is a pulled sugar rose, I really enjoy working with boiled sugar, its a brilliant material to work with if you get it right! This was at college!

These roses were made at work, it was my first time making them, and for my first time I'm so happy with the results! They were also then used on a cake which will be in my next blog post.

First Week at college! Sugar Sculptures!

Hello again,
This is documenting my first day at college. Boiled sugar sculptures which I poured and piped.

These are my top and middle poured disks coloured green

My base disks, coloured with 4 colours but showing up mostly orange.

Assembling my sculpture with my piped sections

Almost completed top half.

These is what it looked like all together.
I used 500g of sugar, glucose, water, and patience :)

These are chefs!
